Thinking of getting one, I like the Gen 1 because it has the fleece lining, does anyone have one, is it decent quality. I think there are better ones out there for a few hundred dollars, but I prefer to stay at my budget of around $100.

Thanks

ECWCS Gen 1 refers to a system.  ECWCS Parka refers to the parka only and not the heavyweight "wooly bear" liner.
The medium weight and light weight part of the system is the polypro long underwear in perspective styles IIRC.

Those "wooly bear" suits have been getting hard to find now and harder to find in XL or XXL.

I've had one of these for about 5 years and have been happy with it, and I do use it along with the zip-in fleece liner in the colder months.  Although I haven't been stuck outside in a hurricane while wearing it, I have been in some showers during some hunting trips and it did a good job against the rain.  So far the jacket has been rather durable and I haven't had any issues with seams, stitching, or material failures.

I have a genuine GI Gore-tex Parka gen 1 with the liner, and it rocks! It is good to -30 IF you also wear long johns an polypro shirt, or UA newer undies. Is completely water proof in the rain. It breathes! It can be cold as hell or hot and humid and if properly worn, you are dry and comfy! I wonder how the gen 3's are??? one complaint, they are a bit loud to wear hunting, and be easy on the zippers.

You are correct, the Tru-Spec H2O Proof Gen I ECWCS Parka does include the liner.  I have the Tru-Spec Gen II and Fleece Jacket Liner and it is excellent.  Got mine at U.S. Calvary use HP12VETS coupon code for $15  off.

The Gen 1 ECWCS did not come with a fleece liner.

It was the parka w/cobra hood and trouser shell.

We did the testing for them at McMurdo Station back in 1990.

I still have mine hanging in the closet, busted zipper and all...

That link is to a commercial version. The issue ECWCS G1 did not have a liner.

If we are both wrong, kindly share the NSN of said liner with us.

"TRUSPEC" offers their version of a gen 1 gortex shell but it's not the original design. The issued one never had any type of liner that zipped or snapped it. It's a shell nothing more.

I am not (as previous posters seem to have) confusing the GI ECWCS with the OP’s request for feedback on the TRU-SPEC H2O Proof™ ECWCS Gen-1 Parka.  Yes the GI ECWCS Parka does not have an attached liner but the one the OP is talking about (TRU-SPEC H2O Proof™ ECWCS Gen-1 Parka) does…
