Whoa! I didn't think it was that good, but apparently somebody did.

Don't worry, I know that doesn't mean survivalism is going mainstream.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good read... I didn't finish the book feeling that it was Pulitzer level writing, though.

I read the book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down but did feel the need to go and raid my pantry of some canned friut and then open it with my knife. I think that maybe some non survival types also felt moved by the story. I didn't feel sad at the end as I could see it coming and was just glad that it ended the way it did. Good book worth a second read. I think I will make my wife read it as well.

The only ways I can make the wife do something that I want:

Lay down the law that she must NOT do it.

Trick her into thinking it was her idea.
