Its an Argentine facon…
Two artisans and a blacksmith were involved in the making of this knife. One did the silver parts (lost wax for the horse legs) another did the sheath, and Diego Luque did the blade. The handle is attached with tar, the narrow tnag goes through it so if the blade breaks, it can be heated, the button cut and the blade replaced. Just like they did it in the old days.
The piece was done for some rich guy in the province of Salta (owns his own private plane kind of rich) the guy lost it to gambling and it was sold back to the man who did the horse legs for a small fraction of the original price.
I followed the making of this knife in a local knife internet forum, never thought I’d own it. Then one day I saw that this man was offering it on a website and made an offer which he accepted.
Someone in that forum described this knife by saying “If God became steel, sliver and leather, it would look just like that knife” :-)
These are the original pics in the forum, I'll post some of my own later.

The balance is just perfect. The blade was made using an old Collins (made in USA) machete. Everything else is silver (900) and black leather.

Hopefully I'll use it in a Dogo and knife hunting trip.
The price of the silver alone in this thing is worth more than what I paid for it!

So, how do you guys like it?
