Sine I already have a power box, it's time to look at radio boxes. I was hoping the iPortable box would meet my needs but alas it won't. I need an unusually shaped box that has an 8"x8" front opening (apx) and is 16" deep. This is a stretch, but know of anything?  This will house a Kenwood TS480 and D710 one on top of another.

If I can't find something that matches I will have to go with a spud or similar.

Thanks in advance.

have you though about a 5U rackmount box?  You could put your radios and power supply in one easily.

That would be plenty of room but far larger than I need.  I just have the two radios to mount. Because of the length I am talking I could probably squeeze a small PS behind the D710.  I will also likely have a short rig runner but that is not a requirement.

I'm shopping rack cases online, seems SKB makes a US series roto case that the width is only 17" instead of the standard 19" rack width.

it would take 2 of the iportables case to do what I want to do.  a smallish rack case may make more sense for me

Pelican makes a bunch of different sizes with wheels and a handle.  I just came into a Hardigg/Storm case (2750) that I'm going to turn into a portable power station.

I have an SKB roto case. The issue with the narrow ones is finding shelves and other inserts without paying a premium for non-standard sized parts.

I was afraid that no one would have seen a box like what I'm looking for.  So far, the closest thing I've found is made by Rubbermaid and is meant to hold a loaf of bread

Depending on what you want and your budget, you could use a cooler with wheels.  Pop the top and have your radios on a lift out tray.

the Spud 7 will  be a little larger than you need bout would allow some space for front-end antenna connections and maybe a PS as well????

Does it allow 16" of interior depth without interfering with the lid?
