Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Sportsman Generators. Bargain or junk?

The wife was browsing around and found a sportsman generator we were thinking of picking up just to keep a few small things running If need be during a power outage. Basically a couple of lights and the sump pump so we don't kill the backup battery. Our little portable generator gave up the ghost so we were looking at this one and wanted to get some input. Any experience with these?

I had one. I probably had only 5-6 hours on it.

Would only put out about 1200w according to my kill a watt.

Went to start it a few weeks ago and wouldnt start, and id been wanting a champion so i got pissed and sold it and bought a bigger champion.
