NESeed    -         http://www.neseed.com/

I grow in volume, couple hundred tomato plants, couple hundred squash plants, etc.  NeSeed  sells in bulk to Small Farming, Market Gardeners, and Backyard Gardeners.  As an example I normally buy  1 oz of Roma tomato seeds for $8.95  with an oz being 9,000-11,000 seeds.   This many seeds allow me to place multiple seeds per starting container so 300 containers at 5 seeds per and I'm over a thousand seeds for myself.  Plus I can share seeds with family and friends.

I have not found bulk seed sellers any cheaper on non standard seeds than them.  There prices are better then my local seed/feed store but I used the local store for standard bean, potato, corn seeds.

Shipping is reasonable at free for a $100+ order and  $7  for less.

I've used them for about 5 years now getting my core items and other different seeds from them.  Overall I am happy with them and will continue to use them.

But a couple of things I do not like.

The 2'nd year I ordered from them I  placed my order in December.  One of the items had a May seed germ test date.  I didn't like getting what looked like last years seeds and called and said something to them.  They said I could send it back if I wanted and they would exchange it when new seeds came in.  I used it anyway and had no issues.   However now I wait until mid January to order and have since always received current dated seeds.  Shipping was fast this year and I received my order 5 days after placing it.

If they are out of stock on an item due to seed crop failure they will ship the remainder of your order with the packing slip noting the failure.  A call to them and they shipped out a different item at no additional shipping charge.

My personal favorite is:
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

Over the years I've probably shopped at almost, if not all, of the places in the OP.  Many are good, but eventually I just kind of settled in with Baker Creek.  Excellent service, high quality seed, great variety, outstanding company values/integrity, and a wonderful catalog.  I'll still go elsewhere if I'm looking for something that Baker Creek just doesn't have, but that seems to happen less and less frequently.

That's my favorite too.  I love the catalog.  Neat pictures and quotes.  Also, I like the fact that it was started by that young man from his room.

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Order placed 1-22-11 (Saturday)
Order shipped 1-24-11 (Monday)
Order received 1-25-11 (Tuesday)
Total order $59.50
Shipping charged $3.00
Actual shipping cost $2.41
Shipped fist class via USPS in bubble padded 8x11 envelope

All 27 seed packs ordered were received in good shape
Bonus seed pack of Parisienne Carrot included as a free "thank you" gift

I just ordered from them for the fist time. I ordered from their website here: http://rareseeds.com/
The website is very user friendly and has a lot of other information on it verses most "commercial" websites, including planting guides/information, festivals, newsletter etc

Overall I'm very happy with the process and if I have no major problems with poor germination/quality of the seeds, I would use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Thank you all for this timely thread.

I've just placed an order with Baker Creek based on your recommendations.

They have a great website and it was very easy to use for a neophyte like me regarding getting the type of seeds that fit my needs.

Thanks!
