Saw the other thread about SOTA and the dad and daughter team that got me thinking. So I looked the rules up on what qualifies has a summit because I have passed a sign that claims is the highest point in Florida.

So SOTA rules says it needs to have 100 meter prominence. The elevation at the highest point is only 345ft ASL. There seems to be a method to request an exception. Seems a request for an activation for the highest point in Florida should be Approved?

Think I should go for it? It might hold the record for the lowest "summit".

LOFL.... You should totally do it. For me the point of SOTA is to get the radio somewhere you have to pack it in for a few miles, elevation is less important.

You said Florida and I was thinking what landfill is 100m high?
Give it a try, the only thing that will happen is you will learn something!
