I am wanting a set of aluminum tent poles in not only an exact overall length but with specific section lengths(under 18").

Is it overly expensive to have some made to my specifications? Who does that? Link?

Will a high speed aluminum/carbon arrow shaft cutter cut aluminum tent poles you think?(in case I just have to buy a different length and cut my own).

Would the same saw cut fiberglass tent poles, maybe?

You could cut the tubing to length with a simple tubing cutter (~$10 at Sears). To make the joints, you just get some tubing that will just fit over the sections and cut them to 3-inch lengths, then epoxy a piece to one end of each section.

Tent poles are easy!

You're also in luck 18" is a standard size for tent poles, as is 13" and 26".

Most good camping stores will have them, or be able to order them for you.

Tips are like $.50, inserts are about the same (to stick two poles together)

Shock cord will run you less than $.75 a yard.

The only thing you have to choose is diameter of the pole

Or Quest Outfitters has them, I've bought fabric from them to make my own tents.\

www.questoutfitters.com/tent_poles.htm

Above link also has an image and how to section on that page.

Or, if you want to have someone else do it, go to a camping store or check out:

www.polesforyou.com/index.htm

I have no idea what they cost, I always do it myself.

I have some old anodized alum. tent poles from a North Face tent.  I could send you some pics of.

I'd sell them to you for super cheap if they fit your need.

Pics in the morn if you wish.

PM me.

I might take you up on that. I just spent my share of outdoor stuff for a while(deer season starts in 6 weeks) but I can usually come up with money for "super cheap" stuff.

message on way

I just saw the message.

Those look nice but I think the pre-bent bars would cause a problem for what I may attempt since I'm not going to use them in a dome.

Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it.

Composite poles

How stupid of me not to check campmor for poles. I guess it's because I think of them as a retailer of complete items.

That composite pole link is a good one I had already been eyeballing too.
Good prices.
