IMHO, were it really a threat, we'd only know about it after the fact. Also, not seeing much "proof" here..

All that aside, purchase of a generator is a worthy goal for a multitude of reasons.

I should have specified that the "proof" can be found by following the highlighted links within the article/s. BTW Microsoft has acknowledged on their website that programs can be compromised with spyware hiding in removable devices. LINK

Actually there was an article in the Wall Street Journal about a year ago stating that there have been confirmed cyber attacks on our power grids. I believe this has also been discussed on this forum around that time.
