So i have converted my 5.11 laptop bag into a Go-bag of sorts.  In case of a fire or SHTF event where we are out of the house ASAP this bag carrys the following:

1. Waterproof document bag with personal documents, passports, insurance info, birth certificates, etc.
2. External hard drive with backups of personal information, family pictures, pictures of personal property, music, etc.
3. Folding Knife and flashlight  (can never have too many of either)
4. Sig P229
5. 4 mags total
6. Wireless mouse, ethernet cable, etc for laptop
7. Laptop (which would be grabbed on the way out the door)
8. Cash in small to medium denominations.
9. Precious metals (gold and silver coins)

This bag sits in the safe and in an emergency is the first bag to grab on our way downstairs.

Keep in mind our BoBs and EDC bags are already packed with the usual items and easy to get to on the way our the door.  But specifically speaking in terms of the Laptop Go-bag (or mobile office) what am i forgetting?  Ideas?

Power supply.

Maybe you just included that with the laptop and didn't say that.

I would suggest getting a SECOND power supply that just stays in that bag.   One less thing you have to worry about packing up in a hurry.

I REALLY need to do this.  I've got crap on about 87 different types of storage.  I've got a perfectly nice 150gb Apricorn drive I should consolidate everything to.

One other thing to add may be a small inverter - if you wind up in the car for a while, it's nice to be able to power up the gizmos.
