Is .243 considered too powerful for Jack rabbits?

I've heard of people shooting Jacks with a .243. In fact, I have done it. I was 10 years old or so. It's been a while since I've shot rabbits.

are you planning on eating them?

Used one for spruce hens, head shots only. For jacks it will work but gets spendy.

It'll get spendy, but nothing is too big. Unless you want to eat them.

I use a .243 on jackrabbits somtimes as its a lot more fun to watch then fly apart then shooting them with the .223

It gets really fun if you use a light bullet like the 58 grain Hornady Vmax with 38.0 grains of varget going around 3700 FPS.

Why would it be too big ?
Nothing is too big for jack rabbits.
