I have been baking my own bread for the last month but cant seem to find and bags that are the right size, were can I find bread shaped bags.
Do you store it any other way?

I store my bread in bread bags we have saved from store bought loaves.

Bake in small quantities so that it gets eaten before going stale.  Otherwise wrap in plastic, overwrap in aluminum foil, & freeze.  Bread will keep a few days on the counter if kept in a brown paper bag (like a paper grocery bag).



I bake ~5 loaves a week and we eat ~3, so I've now got a freezer full of rye, white, whole wheat, & sunflower honey (wife's favorite).

Yea keep the wrappers from store bread and reuse .

Also keep bread in fridge .

I keep as much as possible in the fridge . veggies and tators and such

my wife makes bread loaves about once a week.....and biscuits or rolls another day......I wish we had an issue storing it...

3 kids that will let a store bought loaf go stale......will literally grab it and growl when she makes it from scratch......She has to pull the reigns in or they'll be stuffed like ticks....

I bought a box of 1000 bags from Sams.  Can't remember what they cost, but not bad at all.  Don't just look for size, look at the mil rating too.

We buy bags from our Bosch store (baking store).  They are not too expensive, $4 for 5 or something like that.  These are bags made for home made bread, they work great.

we freeze bread too, it saves fairly well (rotated every two weeks) in freezer bags.  The Mrs. makes wonderful bread from wheat that we barter from a farmer down the road.  He likes our eggs.

Bread bags at walmart. They are in the isle with plastic wrap and such. Bake several loaves and freeze 2 and eat 2. Replace as needed.

The white & whole wheat are for my kids' lunches every day, so it's for slicing.  They eat it up.  The rye is for my wife & I (it's my favorite) & the sunflower honey is for my wife.





My recipe.  Best bread, and easiest bread, I ever baked.  Plus I like that it's only 4 ingredients (flour, water, yeast, & salt) that I always keep handy & are easy to store for the long term.  Try it - you won't ever go back.

Same here - we call it the magic disappearing bread.



I started baking when my wife started to regularly come home with $5 loaves of bread that I could bake for maybe 50 cents, plus my bread would be fresher & wouldn't have any preservatives.  There's no going back to store-bought bread - now it tastes like styrofoam.

1 gallon bags don't work for me. I use 2 gallon freezer bags, and in the event those aren't large enough, I do have some jumbo 2 1/2 gallon bags (they're literally HUGE).

ETA: The book has a simple recipe that forms the basis for a surprising number of breads and other baked goods.  If you're serious about baking bread for yourself and/or your family, buy the book and the few tools it recommends.

We use our bread with in a month or two.  Never really tried to see how long it stays good frozen.

We were at a cooking store yesterday buying a Christmas present for the MIL.  They had bread sack 100 for $7.

Just mixed up a couple batches of rye this morning.  This will be 6 loaves of bread tomorrow afternoon.  I'll leave them on the counter for 2-5 hours today to rise, refrigerate overnight, & bake sometime tomorrow.


After a couple hours' rise, into the back refrigerator:






After refrigerating overnight & ready for forming:
