As we all know keeping are skills up is apart of survival for all of us and for me it is apart of my job survival also! Do to Gov cut backs my department had not been given any more ammo in the past they use to give use a case so we can keep are skills up now we can't even get JHP to resupply if we need to shoot.

Anyway I have a few of my fellow officers who also enjoy shooting and last week we were given Gen4 Glock 22 just before qualification. My last Glock had a workout I'm guessing it shoot well over 5K during academy. So I'm looking to brake this weapon in and get the feel for it and since department will not and does not have ammo to give officer for duty use me and a few other officers are wanting to buy our own ammo to take to the range and to do shooting like night shooting and other things. So what I'm asking is where can I buy 1,000 rounds of 40S&W FMJ would like 180gr but can work with others. What I'm looking for is the cheapest price or some place that would give us a bulk discount say if we bought 5K or more. We are not picky cheap Russian ammo works as well as any others. Thanks for the help!

+10000... SGAmmo is where I buy large quantities of my own personal ammo as well.  Sam and Lala are great to deal with!

I see you're in ND.

Have you contacted Black Hills and asked them about placing an individual officer ammo order? There are  also cheaper places that you can order reloaded ammo from, and if you have a ton of used brass you can send to BH, I believe they'll still give you a brass credit to knock off the cost of your order

OT: Can't help with the ammo, but Glocks can easily shoot >100.000 rounds without breaking a sweat. My local rental range had a G17 that shot 750K rds documented rounds(ie bought from the range, actual number of rds is probably >750K because people often smuggle in extra ammo) on the original frame, with only slide replacement at 500K. The gun wasn't babied either, the counter help would clean the gun only when the customer complains of "jamming," which was few and far between. The help would clean the gun in 5mins and give the customer an extra bag of ammo, and everyone went away happy.

As others have said........SGAmmo is the place to go.

Keep watching them as they have some great deals on Govt contract ammo from time to time.

thats a deal and includes an ammo can or two.

does anyone know if it is reloaded ammo?

yes, it's reloaded.  I've seen two issues.  I got a tapered roller bearing in some ammo and got short changed the equal no of round.  DOD made a big local purchase ($10k) of 5.56 and had failures.  GA arms offered to refund the entire price, or exchange the ammo.  Thats in in >>10k I've bought and shot.

The canned heat is not what I would consider defensive ammo, but I've never had a F2F or seen a damaged round in >>10k rds.  I've bought 1k 9mm, 1k 38, >10k.223, >10k 40cal and shot 90% of it.  I know plenty of people who are happy with their hunting ammo as well, including those taking it to AK and Africa

Same here.  Maybe if you call them w/ your story (and a copy of your popo papers) they'll cut you a little extra discount ?).  I've always been super happy w/ them...

check out jack ross ammunition, they are in reno, NV.

I ordered 500 rounds from them, it did take a while but you get what you pay for i guess. It was $100 for 500 of 40S&W. I wish i would have ordered 1000 after I realized how long it would take. It took about a two months. They come in what looks like factory boxes that are their brand. All of it is shiny and new looking and is pretty consistent. I plan on ordering 1000 if i can't find some locally.
