I am wanting to mount a red lens flashlight on my AR for Hog Hunting in Texas.  I am unsure of what to buy and the effective range of the lights.  I'd like to see what you have, how it is mounted and why you like them.  Thanks for the help!

I use the bow lite mounted to my rail with an offset light mount. I have successfully taken coyotes and foxes past 150 yds with it.

I use the Riflelite made by Bowlite most of the time, but also have an O-Light warrior tactical light with a red lens adaptor...so I can have bright white light if needed by simply flipping up the lens.

I use a Streamlight TacLight that gives me vis out to 100+ yards.   I used a streamlight strion mount that uses a semi thumbscrew so I can attach it to different rifles in less than a minute, and in case my backup light goes out, I can easily remove my Taclight and use it as a standard flashlight.

I have also duct taped it to my bow stabilizer before.

Light plus mount plus tac switch will likely run in the $200 range, but it can be used on multiple rifles with ease....

Super tight beam that easily reaches out to 100yrds. My hunting buddy and I both have them mounted on our ARs for night hunting and they work GREAT!

My Remington 700 in .308 with Elusive Wildlife green LED Kill Light mounted on top of the Bushnell 4200 scope.
I can see out to 150+ yards with this rig.

The Nite Hunter Illumination Systems LED in green works well.  We did a field review on in in East Texas.  There are plenty of lights that work well, we just happen to have just released this article last week.  Here is the link if you care to read it.  Short version is that it worked well, but with any setup like this you will need quality day optics to go with it.

Olight Triton M3X 700 lumen torch with Cree XML is totally awesome to 300 yards, Olight M-20 Crimson with Cree XPG Red Led is great to 200 yards:

I ordered these on your recommendation,  I hope they are good! If not they are pretty cheap so its worth a gamble.  Thanks for the heads up.

What mount do you use for the M-20? I think I'm about to order one.

Looks like it's this one: http://www.batteryjunction.com/m20-gun-mount.html

200 lumens should get you good shotgun range, I've never used anything but a 1million candle power spotlight for rifle work.

The Olight M3-X with a green ground glass filter on it is good for 300+ yard kills using a Leopold VX-R 1-4X scope, the Olight M-20 Crimson is good for 100 + yards.

The M-3 looks like it would definitely throw out more than enough light but it looks freakin' HUGE!

It has an extension on it to run two 18650 Li-Ions, and it has a huge deep reflector and is simply an outstanding long distance thrower, one of my top favorite hunting lights that has taken lots of hogs and 'yotes both.

Everyone that has one raves that it is one of their favorites too as it really puts out a tight long beam.

Sucks with a red filter though as any white LED only puts out around 5% of its light in the red visible spectrum but over 50% in the green visible spectrum.

Works real good with a ground glass green filter but sux with a red filter.

If you want red, be sure to get ONLY A RED LED like the KLR-250 or Olight M-20 Crimson Red LEDs, not a filtered red white led light.

It is a fine instrument.

I picked up a Hogzilla in green - was able to pick out pig from cattle at 200+ yards - I am really happy with it.
