Since I am limited on yard space I have to mount my Butternut HF6V on the roof. I have the roof mounting kit that comes with the STR ground radials, but I need to know the best way to ground it for lightning protection and static discharge. I thought about getting some #6 wire and running it from the mast to several 4ft. ground rods in the ground which is about a 50 ft. run. Would that be adequate?

Why reinvent the wheel?

there is a purpose engineered kit for this that handles the mechanical as well as the electrical issues of roof mounting an HF6V
