That's a perfectly adequate Foodsaver. It's a good way to get started. You won't be running a production line with it, but it'll do just fine for a first machine. Your wife may decide in the future she needs to upgrade, but she may not as well. Buy it and don't look back.

I just bought mine, same model as a matter of fact. I got it around the same price from Bestbuy.com. The when you get it, take the recipt up to your local bestbuy and give em $14.00 and change for the 2 year accidental damage protection plan (warranty). Use the piss out of it, if it dies, not a biggie, you will get a new one.

It's not so much the vacuum sealers under a $100, it's the cost of the bags as well.
