So after my divorce I stored a bunch of stuff in my moms garage. I had two cases of MRES from 91 and one from 04. For whatever reason I completly forgot about them. I keep all of my A-packs(commercial MRES) and other MRES at my home in a climate controlled basement. Well As I was at my mothers letting her and the kids play I was looking in her garage and saw the MRES. So the kids and I broke em out to try, I couldnt believe it but both years of pack date were good. If it was not a garage I wouldnt really think anything about it, but damn They have been in there last two HOT summers and still were great! Just thought I would share.

It's not "they didn't go bad" but is there any food value?
I am thinking not.
You can fill up on straw but you won't be nourished.
