Looks like dinner to me!  Fawns are so cute aren't they? We have several in our yard in the early morning.

I nearly stepped on one a couple of weeks ago. I was walking through grass just a little taller than my knees and as I was about to put my foot down the fawn jumped up, hitting the bottom of my shoe, and took off into the brush about 10 yards away. They are awkward little things with those long legs.

I'm with you too; here in north central Indiana, drier and hotter than I can remeber since 1988. Do you think this drought will hurt the deer population, mainly the fawns ? Saw a dead fawn today on the side of the road.
