The TGIF Network was gracious enough to assign me a DMR Talk Group 556 for ARFCOM hams to use.
You can access this talk group with an MMDVM hotspot and your DMR radio. Yaesu Fusion owners can also access this group with a hotspot when using the YSF2DMR bridge via YSF00002. If you have any issues or questions setting this up let me know. I also need to renew my ARFCOM membership. TGIF Network |

Dumb question: Is this brandmeister?
I'm stuck using marc here in AZ. Haven't really wanted to drop cash on a hotspot yet. |

Cool Cheap Jeep sent me a text a few days ago saying a reflector was finally granted to him on behalf of arfcomms.
So on a pistar type hotspot do I just key up 556 or do I need to select a specific sever? |

Attached File The top image is how you set up Pi-Star via DMR and the bottom is for Yaesu Fusion cross mode YSF2DMR. For a DMR radio you would have to create a code plug that includes a zone TGIF and a talk group numbered 556. Again if you have trouble let me know. This is not a Brandmeister network. TGIF hosts their own servers and the owner is Pro Second Amendment and proponent of free speech. His group was kicked off Brandmeister by the powers that be, so in true American style he bought server space and created his own DMR network. Unlike Brandmeister, if you have any issue its usually taken care of in hours instead of weeks. Also unlike Brandmiester the server is up 24/7 without all of the system failures and outages that Brandmeister has been suffering. About a month ago Brandmeister suffered a major DDoS attack that basically brought their whole system. http://brandmeisternetwork.blogspot.com/2017/04/brandmeister-network-was-subject-ddos.html Here is a list of the current talkgroups you can access via the TFIF network. They aslo have a number of bridged networks, so take a look. http://tgif.network/talkgroups.php |

How do I get all the talkgroups into my Anytone software, I hand dialed in ARFCOMM and am listening to two of you have a conversation but it keeps kicking back and showing TAC310 from BM in between conversations.
|
|
Yeah I have the master changed to TGIF and running the 868I can hear you but when I go to key up it takes me back to the BM310

I think I figured it out, I needed to "Build" the talk group in my anytone software so I am now downloading a new program to radio hopefully that was what the issue is.....I am an idiot from time to time.

Yep nice speaking to both of you guys on ARFCOMMS. Thus far that is 3 arfcom member contacts and one non member that I have made on TG 556.
Hope to see others join in. By Clicking this link you will be redirected to the ACTIVE TALKERS / TALK GROUP page while on this page you can view who all is talking on all the various TGIF talk groups. If you do not see the ARFCOMMS TG it is most likley due to no traffic on the TG in the past 15min or so. Once someone keys it up it will show the TG and who it was on and if dark green color who is currently talking. |

Welp looks like I need to fire up hotspot number 3 and set it to tgif. Too bad you can't run two masters on pistar.
I have way way too many groups on brandmeister to shut that off that I am active on. |
|
Well the question is I have a local DMR repeater (Brandmeister) and don't use a hotspot for DMR, at least not yet anyway I do travel for work a lot and have a D-Star hotspot but not one for DMR yet. So anyway how can I access this group going direct through a repeater?

Don’t think there is a way to access it on a non TGIF network as of yet.
So far I like the TGIF network better than brandmeister. I’m unsure if they do digital aprs and sms messaging haven’t checked into that yet. But seems to be a far more robust and responsive system over brandmeister and k4usd. Wish I I could get my Atlanta metro on it tho. |

Currently monitoring. Looks like the video I posted only has a Android app. But said iphone will be supported in the future. |

I'm out of reach of any TGIF repeater so I guess I'll need a hotspot. What is everyone running?

Sadly family commitments and working midnight's has made it almost impossible for me to play any radio whatsoever.
