Has anyone been successful "roaring" a buck in?  I can almost see that happening some time during the rut, but what about the Wheeze that this call also has?  To me it's a little hard to believe that a wheeze is going to bring a deer in but I could be wrong.

I actually turned a 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer that was facing away from me at about 60 yards, and he was walking towards me on a trail that would have brought him 8 yards from my stand. Unfortunately a larger  9 pointer stepped out and scared him off, and the 9 point never offered me a shot. He was not having any part in the roar, wheeze, whatever. He kept looking towards me like eff you buddy, I ain't buying your shitty call. Nothing ventured , nothing gained.

I have the Drury Buck Growl call.  I haven't had it work yet but I seemed to miss the rut this year.  It's actually pretty cool as you can do other sounds with it as well.  I'm still pissed at Primos because somehow my can stopped working in the middle of a Buffalo County 4 day hunt so I'm sticking to the Drury calls for now  How the heck does a can break????

Tried it and didn't get any response, I know there were 2-3 bucks in the area I was hunting, the only responses I got were from cattle in the farms nearby....

I dont know if the whlole growl and roar thing works yet but I do know that it is easier for the deer to hear. I have stopped 90% of the ones I have used it on.

best grunt I have heard from a call...and the growl works like a charm for the last 2 seasons I used it...hunting was just plain shitty so I though screw it...gave it a few hell of a growls and couple min later I was picking my buck (had 4 rush in), last year I was more conservative, but still came right in.  I have noticed that this only works in areas with alot of bucks.  We have antler restrictions allowing us to take only deer with more than 4 on one side,,,,this has increased the mature bucks in our area and made for better hunting overall.  The bucks are rattled in pretty well during peak rut as well, but that call freaking works!!!

I don't know, but I have to buy a new one every season, as they always quit working. Mine always have this powdery residue come out of them when the give up the ghost.

That happens to mine when they freeze out.  I'm relatively sure it's when the rubber seal around the edges gets exposed to prolonged cold.
