Could it be true
www.armygear.net/ag/store/0120.html Ordered some to see. *****UPDATE*******UPDATE********** Got them today, ordered them on the 24th. They appear to be made with in the last 2 years or so. all 24 came loose in one big box not in individual cases. This made it easier for storage. For me atleast. But packed in seperate case would have been better. Shipped to me was109.48 total. |
Maybe I should trek over to Columbia this weekend and see if they have them in the retail store...
Who makes them? I'm assuming they're real deal MREs.
If they are and if that price includes shipping then, its a heck of a deal |
Same same. Still cheap for the real deal. |
Please post if these are the real deal or crappy hacked up resealed packs of expired dog food.
$106.57 to get them to my door. you have got to let us know as soon as you get them, if they are legit.
Don't get too excited. $45 a case plus shipping is a fair price for decent milspec MREs. You can buy them all day long on Ebay for that. So, these are in that range. No bargin, but fair. |
if thoughs are reel USGI MRES and they are not past the inspection date then that is a HELL of a deal, let me know if they are the real deal, if so ill be buying 2 cases ASAP!!!!
if adding this topic to favorits so you better let us know... |
You're getting too excited. See above. |

here's a link to an ebay auction for 2 cases, 1 each of A and B cases, for 69.98 plus 26 shipping(to me). I've ordered from him and he got them to me in 2 days. Good commo and real deal MRE's. I recommend them. 1st inspection date of 09/09. New menu.

I do apologize for the ignorance. |

I'm tempted but I'll wait for the OP and see what the verdict is. If there GW1 they'll be past date , but if there fresh .........
Buy me a couple of cases and ship them to me! All my local guys are near $100 a case. One surplus store had them marked at $115 per case. BSW |
Hey, if you love the taste of those things, and you want to pay $89.95 for them...I'll gladly shit into two cardboard boxes for you. Free shipping!
You, my friend, are a poet. If you slap a piece of cheese on it, I bet every Packer would think it was a gift from heaven. |
lol...come on they are not that bad I used to love when i was younger and my dad would let me have an MRE...i think he liked it cause he saved money and a trip to mcdonalds |
I just got an e-mail back from them. Expiration date is 2006.
If you get the new ones they are not really that bad! Just stay away from the eggs and you should be good. When I was getting out back in 2006 we started getting some really good MRE's in also we got these things call "First Strike" rats and they where good. They had a hotpocket and flavored Tuna I do wish they would let us eat more of them. |
He's not there anymore... I wonder why |
They emailed me back saying they were PACKED in 2006. There were TONS of Katrina MREs that went online or out the back doors that year. (I picked up a couple cases back then for a good price, less than 5 months after packing date... still in my 60 F basement) |
I've just order 2 cases (A+B). The total is $109.48 shipped to Texas. The guy on the phone said that it is real military MRE. The MRE will be removed from the original box and shipped separtely because the box is too heavy. Everything is included except the original cardboard box. He said that if you were to show up at the retail store, you could pick up the MREs in their original box. I'll take pictures and have a taste test when I get them. He said that it'll ship on Monday.
Manufacturing date is 2006 and Inspection date is 2009. |
Okay, Okay....I'll level with you guys. Some of the contents of MREs taste great, but I usually have to piecemeal something together. The absolute worst thin in MREs is that "wheat snack bread"...horrible! Its probably what they had at the Last Supper. In MS, I put a bit on a huge ant mound and the ants made a collective effort to move that nasty piece of crap away from their domain. These newer MREs are offering things like "Cheese Omelet", which already sounds untrustworthy. I am not eating an "egg" that's been in a plastic bag for extended periods of time and cooked with steam. Finally, does anybody else notice how your bowels cease to function for days after consuming an MRE?
I guess some people are just picky eaters... |
Cheese Omelet is a bad one if it does not make you sick you will have bad gas for the next day or two from them. MREs are made to make your bowels cease I've gone a whole week with out going. One of the MRE myths was that the chewing gum they gave you was a laxative. I also noticed some MREs do not back you up like the grilled chicken. I was also told by a Corpsman that MREs where made that some backed you up and others helped you go and they way they should be eaten is that everyone get one box and eats all the MREs in them and they should be fine but that never happened because people with more weight on the collar liked only the good ones. There are a lot of Myths around the MREs. Like don't eat the Charms there bad luck and a few other ones there was a post started by me I can't find it in the Archives right now but I'll keep looking. |

bblake00, what is the manufacture date on your meals? Are they mix and match with different dates? According to the sales person, each group of 12 packets should have the same dates since they came out of the same case. Please let me know. Thanks!
I've just learned that one thing about not shipping the MRE with it's case is that you don't get to see the TTI (time and temperature indicator) |
bblake00 did you get the meals yet? or are we still waiting for delivery?
No dates that I see but the production code on the beef and mushrooms (Menu #1) I opened are 6004MV1 29AA6, and the beans are 6008m2 225FB2 |
1st page. |
Order process is pretty fast. I called in on Saturday, it was shipped on Monday, and arrived on Wednesday.
that sucks. |
I believe the production dates on those are Jan 4, 2006 and Jan 8, 2006. Sounds like a good deal to me |

My four cases arrived today. I really do wish that the meals were in their original case. I opened two meals and both were from January 06. I emailed the vendor to see if I could get the meals in the original cases. We will see if that works.
I got mine also. When I ordered, nothing was said about the meals coming lumped in one big box. I called after the delivery and they sent the original boxes separately but you don't know if the box dates corresond with the loose meals or not. I guess the buyer should beware, but who would expect this?
Go my 3 on Saturday along with my other stuff...
LBE Vest Alice Pack Pistol belt M16 Mag pouches Sleeping bag Etc.... Everything was great quality at a price I can not believe. If you have not checked out there other gear do so.. Shipping was 18 bucks |
I posted earlier that they don't come in the original box. Yeah, it's buyer beware because I was told that all of them would be from 2006 but one of my meal is from 2005. You really don't know how old they are without the original box and you don't know which ones to eat first because you can't see the date until you open the package. it sucks... I think the price is alright. The meals don't taste that great. It's something to eat, but it's nothing that I would be craving for. This is my opinion. I think next time I would give APack a try. P.S. The menu I received was 13 to 24 X2 each. |
