I've had this happen on multiple occasions.
Twice so far with UPS and now with USPS. Sometimes a gentle nudge gets them to actually deliver packages to the respective carriers. I had a CS rep once tell me that my upper was sitting right there in front of him... 3 days after I got the UPS Quantum notification.
They're doing massive sales and heard from a "friend" of the owners (on a forum) that they recently hired a new guy to handle sales/shipping. He seems to be doing a better job than his predecessor, and may have to deal with their current system before he can tweak it to run more efficiently.
Sending out notifications without actually delivering the goods to the carriers is a bad SOP and hope that's something they are working on.
Even though they are way ahead of schedule for my lowers (website Christmas sale ship date 1/15/12), getting a shipment notification and not seeing any movement is a cause for stressing my patience.
They're growing... they need to streamline their shipping process, they need to maintain a high level of customer good will and service if they hope to survive. I hope they do, I've been very satisfied with their products.
