As far as Colt reviving the "AR15" handle for civilian sales? It's a thing of the past. Day's of glory, so to speak.
NightOwl is right when he say's the states will define legislation. Kali was one of the first. Given time others would have followed. Colt would need to adapt to remain a viable manufacturer. And an AR with the AR15 trademark on it will become a "55 T-bird". No doubt.
There is a limited number and that number shrinks every year due to confiscation, illegal modifications, thefts, fires, stupidity and whatever other reasons tend to present themselves.
The early ArmaLite / Colt weapons bear the name AR15. So do the Colt versions. Nobody else.
