I know the value of the Colt brand AND the fact the military uses them. If it was not for those facts, what is truly good about them. I do not knock them because I have never held one. I am comparing these to Rock River 6 position telescoping buttstocks. The RRA appears much more durable and I like the swivel swing on the bottom. I am looking for good comments from experience users. Thanks again.
PS - I have a bid on ebay for one-hope I did not make a mistake. ralph |

IMHO, Colt goes the extra distance on these. It’s in the details.
The buffer tube (receiver extension) is finished in a nice matte finish, as opposed to the shiny type 2 that most other brands offer. The buffer tube is shaped to match the contour of the lower receiver for positive retention of the buffer retainer with no fitting required. Machine work on the buffer tube is top notch. The threads on the buffer tube are clean, never any burrs or other defects. The buffer tube is one piece. The polymer stock has a nice matte finish that matches the rest of the rifle. As opposed to a lot of aftermarket stocks which are shiny. No defects or short comings in the molding of the stock, they’re always perfect. All the parts are manufactured to spec, no short cuts taken on any parts. The nut has the correct dimples for the stock to be “staked” on. The latch assembly has the roll pin installed in the nut. Correct metal buffer. They always function properly, not fitting or adjustment required. These are just the things of the top of my head. Other reason I like them are: The correct military version. Looks correct, guess I’m use to seeing them. Every aftermarket version I’ve examined has short comings to the above list. This includes the new Style RRA and BM modes I’ve looked at. Don’t pay more than about $130 for NIW. HTH RK |

I like the Colt better, too. As RK said, they just typically pay more attention to the details.
My only experience with the RRA stock was with the post-ban type on the LEGP. While I didn't find the feel and comfort of the RRA stock objectionable, I thought it's bulky, oversized nature kind of defeated one of the primary purposes of a collapsible stock, that being compactness. |

The positive of the RRA M4 stock though is the slant on the back plate makes it shoulder a lot better than the standard stock. Easier to shoot in the prone position as well.

Righteous_Kill said it all. I love my Colt 4 position stock as it just fits my wife in the second position and fits me perfectly at full extension. Good luck with your new purchases.

I have never owned any other telestock other than the Colt, so my opinion bears little weight. I like the fact that the buffer tubes are "timed", meaning when the front threaded edge of the buffer tube just covers the buffer retainer, the stock is rotated into the correct upright position.
