Still why make a civi version( which i would kill for also), then do the military version, more then likely have to make changes to it, then have to retool the lines? From a purely business standpoint it makes sense what they are doing.
Go for the mil version first then if they pick it and have to make changes you dont have to retool an existing line with would cost them, and us more money when/if it finally gets out.
Plus to those who ask why they dont make it themselves, even thought im sure its been said before, read the one of the posts above this one about them talking about liability/insurance concerns about the lowers, then think about them making a full rifle. could they get they do it? probably. is it worth it to them? i have no idea. plus if they were to make it, i believe theres a pretty good chance it would not be as cheap as they want it to be when it gets released. and by getting a fairly big name to make it they would have a better chance to win the trials, then if they were to do it by themselves, and possibly not be able to meet the demand.
As for me ive said this once, and ill say it again, even though i would love a civi version of this in my house, i would much rather have the best weapon possible to all our troops, and me when i finally join up. and if that entails me not getting a civi version for a while if ever, im fine with that. there are still plenty of other weapons that will hold me over.
