I have a dilemna. I paid for my Rock River Arms Tactical Operator 2 on February 20, sad to though, it is now JUNE 5TH and I have yet to recieve any word about when I would be getting my rifle. The dealer I purchased it from has told me that Rock River is just slow with the manufacturing and that they will not know when it will get in until the day it is delivered to their store so I called Rock River myself and they pretty much told me that they cannot give me a time frame as to when I can expect it to be delivered to the store for me to pick up. This is especially frustrating seeing that I went through months of research to decide what rifle I should choose for my first purchase of an AR. I'm not going to lie, the excitement I had for my Tactical Operator was indescribable even though I knew before hand that I was going to have to wait a little while before I could get it. This was cool for me at the time because it just gave me time to focus my resources on purchasing all of the accessories for my rifle which I have nearly completed by now. Not to mention the wait time I was given the day of the purchase was 90 days but as you can see we have surpassed that mark by 2 WEEKS. To make a long story short...my excitement and enthusiam is damn near shot and i'm thinking about going back to the dealer to get my money back because I'm just not sure if the rifle is even being made. Feeling left out in the cold. So...friends. HELP! WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!! I had originally posted this issue in another forum and was directed here by the great people in the forum stating that this is where I could possibly be given some answers that should help me resolve the issue. Any help is great help at this point in time. Thanks.

Damn, I am stupid tonight. I thought this post was in another section of the website. You're in the right place OP.

We build our own AR's and there seems to be a rather nasty shortage of barrels at the moment.

Edit: If you bought from a small single shop type dealer, they are last in line when it comes to getting orders in from distributors compared to Cabela's or Sportman's Warehouse.

I thought RRA didn't sell through dealers. I thought you had to order direct and give them the info for your FFL for shipping. I was wrong just checked their website.

I know people that have waited a year for rifles. I wouldn't worry too much until 6 months. However, you should be able to get some sort of explanation.

A year?!?! that's disheartening.

Back in 08, we had a guy order an evil black rifle from our small shop. It took 18 months to get it. He did have some custom work done on it from what I remember.
Things seem to be getting scarce in 2012, yet again.

I posted this back in March about Winter Gardens having 6 Tactical Operator 2's in stock. It looks like he still has them all if you wanted to cancel and order through him. He has upped the price to $1099.00 since then. Maybe you could talk him down since he hasn't sold one since before March.

BTW, he's also listed as one of RRA's FFL transfers.

Not making excuses, but late February to early June is about three and a half months, not six or twelve.

Any lead times we provide are approximate...and often as not, when we do fill back orders, we'll often fill multiple weeks to a couple months of orders for the  same product at the same time...which means that some orders in that group are probably well in excess of our original anticipated lead time, while other orders going out at the same time may be well within the approximate lead time.

If the OP wants to IM me with the dealer information for the order, I can try to locate it and find out its status.  Please remember that we don't have an order from you, but from your dealer.  We are a dealer direct manufacturer, and ship in date order.  We don't play preference to bigger dealers over smaller dealers.

I bought one of these a year ago for cash from this guy http://bullitproofarms.com/ . He normally has a few in stock. If I were you though I'd make sure to change my order to one with the half smooth and half full quad rail, Speaking from experience. Good luck.

Just wanted to let the OP know to check out Kentucky Gun Company, they have a large selection online and I just bought and recieved my RRA Tactical Operator 2 from them. Here They still have some in stock and deliver quick.  I paid 962.49 total with shipping insurance shipped to me.  I ordered the rifle on the 15th, sent a money order (to save the credit card fee), and got it yesterday the 21st...it actually arrived on the 20th.  

So if you want to cancel your local order out you could reorder through them and have it quick.

First, I would relax a bit regarding the wait for your RRA to arrive.  Historically RRA lead times to fulfill orders is very extended.  That being said, my RRA 6.8SPC was a 6 month wait and my LAR8 was 18 months (order had to be placed twice).  Both rifles exceeded expectations, the 6.8 is a great caliber and is now my goto whitetail rig.

As others here said you could cancel and purchase from a dealer with current stock or hold on for a few more months.  Bottom line...you will not be disappointed with your RRA rifle.  

Last month I put in a order for a 458 SOCOM, hopefully it will arrive in time for deer season this fall.

boo hooooo my play toy hasn't arrived yet.  I bought all these fancy shmancy accessorizors and nothing to accessorize.  I even springed to get the extra lumens on my tactical elite spec ops tactical match grade Xreme tactical flashlight scope.  But the big, bad meanies at RRA are bein' mean to me.

Whiney nonsense.  You purchased a build-to-order rifle.  Big effin' deal.  It'll come.  Eventually.
