Clearly. And, if memory serves, you're right: the BAD was intended to work with the Redi-Mod fine, as-is.
My Redi-Mod didn't fit the same way the second time as the first, so I'm inclined to think it's the Redi-Mod or the installation thereof. I followed the instructions, though, so I see limited opportunity for improvement there. It could be the bolt catch is bent or damaged, but the bolt catch looks fine. There's some wobble on the bolt catch which is undoubtedly a contributor. Fiddling with the lower at home, the problem only appeared to surface with some Lancer mags, so it might also be solvable by upgrading the springs in same.
However, fixing any of those problems will probably mean a lot of trial and error through the mail and concomitant cost in time and money. Especially as I don't know of a shop in town that carries individual AR parts, let alone parts from different manufacturers. And, at the end of the day, it may not actually fix the problem. Not having quite so much in surplus funds right now, this is not an attractive option to me.
take my Dremel tool to the Redi-Mod, but I'd rather not intentionally damage a $150 part that way. (See the above about funds or lack thereof.) Or, I could spend 20 minutes and $30 with two pair of vice grips and a cheap rag making the BAD, which I can purchase at a nearby gun shop, work despite the possible problems identified above. This way, if I break the part, I can replace it fairly easily for moderately cheap.
Which I did. Problem solved.
