I currently own a Colt MT6601 and I am looking for a suggestion (model number) for a Colt's carbine/M4 style. I am not LE, just your average joe. Although eventually I would like to get into pre-bans, right now I am interested in Colt's most recent 16" HBARs.

Snacko- I'm living proof that you can be an average Joe and a LEO at the same time. Colt is not offering a post ban carbine with an M4 contour barrel, but Bushmaster just came out with one that you will probably like. It has a permanant muzzle brake, M4 contour barrel, and pinned open collapsible stock. I am a die hard Colt fan, and if I didn't have the real deal and wanted a very close semiauto postban copy of an M4, then I would most definately buy the BM. Just my $.02. Good luck.....DOORGUNNER

The only post-ban Colt carbines are the MT6530 Sporter Lightweight (A2 upper, 16" 1/9 lightweight barrel) and the MT6731 Match Target Comp II (Flat top upper, 16" 1/9 heavy barrel). If you want something of an M4 type carbine, you'll either need to assemble the Colt pieces on your own or look at other brands. Personally, the LEGP really is a pretty good deal if you are looking for an M4 type carbine.
