Any plans for matching uppers? If not any recommendations on what to pair with?

Just saw this as well. Any plans on a large frame glock lower as well?
|
|
I have an older Spikes complete 9mm upper that currently sits on a Spikes lower with a now-discontinued Spikes 9mm magwell block. Will these new 9mm Glock lowers work with with the older upper?
|

We have a colt pattern lower as well and we do plan to offer stripped uppers, bolts, barrels, integral suppressed rifles/uppers, etc... We are full blown doing 9mm again. :-)
ETA no plans for large frame Glock right now. |

Large frame and DI .45 and 10mm are definitely needed. I offer to do all your prototype testing for free, I'll even pay for the ammo

Since Spikes has no eta on compatible bolts, anyone have suggestions in the meantime?

Put this guy together last night and I can't wait to finish the upper and shoot this thing. All the parts laid out to make sure I wasn't missing anything......I was. Had to steal a buffer retaining spring and retaining plug from another gun. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_190030.jpg Spikes 9mm Glock Lower, KAK shockwave kit, MEGA trigger, K2 grip, BAD ambi safety, 8.0 oz 9mm extended buffer, CMC Anti Walk Pins(these will not work with the MEGA trigger. Either the pins are slightly oversize, or the trigger holes are slightly undersized. It would work with standard pins, but decided the anti walk pins were more inportanat to the build, so no MEGA trigger in it yet. Might try to open up the holes in the trigger just a bit to make them work. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_190119.jpg Spikes Slick Side upper, BCM Mod 3 CH, Spinta 9mm bolt http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_190056.jpg BA 5.5" barrel 1/2x36, KAK slimline Muzzle Brake, BCM KMR-A 7", crush washer(to time the brake so the slots are at 3 & 9 - yes, I'm anal) http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_190044.jpg Complete Lower http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_194807.jpg Upper mock up to see how it will all look. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_195026.jpg Lower complete, Upper mocked up. Just need a vice and the upper will be done, hopefully by Sunday so I can shoot it. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a438/srob7001/20170419_195256.jpg Manually cycling it with an empty mag did cause the bolt to lock back, so very happy about that. Will know if it really works once I get to the range. So far this has been my easiest build to date, just the 1 small annoyance with the MEGA trigger not working with the CMC pins. View Quote Pleased to say I did not have a single malfunction and my bolt locked back every single time I shot the last round out of the mag. Shot 200 rounds out of the 1 ETS 31 round mag I had. This has quickly become my favorite gun, and I can't wait to get a RMR red dot and SBR this thing. |

Colt lowers are in stock at Aim Surplus, really wish yall didn't use the 9mm long finger bolt catch on these

Just wondering if it comes with no 'rifle' designation, so I can register it as a pistol?

The ST Glock lowers are in stock again at AIM...

A dedicated upper with the forward brass deflector etc. would be pretty sweet.

I'm getting the itch to get one of the Colt 9mm lowers for a new build. My question is will the Spikes slick upper work with the Colt 9mm lower and a 16in 9mm barrel? Or should I wait for the 9mm upper? I know I could get another brand upper but prefer to keep it in the family.

literally any upper will work with a 9mm build Because the NFA has LRBHO built into it, and the Colt lower has stuff on the mag block that gets in the way. And - I found that out by not paying attention while ordering the NFA side charger thinking I'd throw it on my Spikes Glock lower which has LRBHO built into the lower - and naturally didn't fit. So I started swapping parts around to figure out what ELSE I didn't know or take into account. I have no experience or parts for a purpose built lower that has the magwell machined specifically to take Colt mags. I only have my Colt lower that came from Colt with magwall block. The easiest thing to do at that point was to order the NFA Glock lower to match the NFA sidecharger upper and stick a PSA pistol upper on the Spikes lower until Spikes gets some matching 9mm pistol uppers in stock. |

Recommend spring to use with your ST-9X buffer? View Quote ETA: And some recommend against automatically using a heavy buffer as the automatic go-to buffer because it can cause the bolt to slam home with too much force. Thats one of the reasons that KAK offers the 'KAK 9MM AR15 CONFIGURABLE BUFFER KIT' up to 10 oz, but their standard 9mm buffer is a 5.5 oz. I am not an expert, just passing along what I've read since I started this process. |

Y'all use to make the 9mm uppers with gas deflector and 2/3 dust cover installed. Any plans for these uppers again (please)?

Sometimes the linkage for the LRBHO will hit the upper, our 9mm upper has added clearance machined in that spot.

Anybody know if the Magpul Glock mags functions fine with the Spikes Glock Lower? Greatly appreciate any feedback.
|
|
Haven't shot mine yet, but the magpul and ETS mags are very hard to seat with or without the bolt locked back. The dummy rounds feed and cycle fine from the magpul mag, but the LRBHO seemed to get hung up on the second to the last dummy round in the mag. I'm running an odd-ball upper though so that may have something to do with the LRBHO catching.
