I ordered my rifle (5.56 PredatAR 16") on July 17, 2012. I was told the estimated delivery time was going to be November 5, 2012. I now have a tracking number and see that it is supposed to arrive tomorrow, Monday, January 21, 2013. That is 188 days from purchase. It was supposed to be 111 days. I'm furious with Larue, not because it has taken this long, but because they know perfectly well how fast they can build these rifles, yet they tell you bullsh*t delivery estimates.
Looking at the comments about these rifles and other delivery times, I'm seeing that everyone says they are well worth waiting for... I hope I'll be that happy about this new rifle, but under my current thoughts, I can say that this will be ***my last gun purchase from Larue Tactical.*** I know they are great rifles, and I know this is only my first experience with them, but I'm seeing everyone say the same thing. When a company quotes you a delivery date that they already know they can't make, it is poor business skills. I would not be upset in the least if they told me from the start that I would be receiving my rifle on January 21, 2013, but they fail to give you a true delivery quote or even an accurate estimate. Then they fail to return emails and keep you updated.
For anyone looking to make a purchase from Larue and remain happy, order the rifle with a year to spare, and forget about your order. Truly forget about it. Then when it arrives, you won't be upset because you'll have forgotten that you even ordered it in the first place.
Again, I'm sure I'll love this gun, but the company has got to learn how business should be done here in America.
