I just had Bushmaster take off my 14.5"HB w/ AK brake and put on a 16" Superlite barrel. So, I will have a perfectly good barrel assembly with less than 5,000 rounds thru it with a matching bolt.
I was thinking that I would like to do a pistol build next. I noticed that you list the removal of permanently attatched brakes that includes the cutting of the barrel to a desired length.
What would be the shortest length that you could cut this barrel and still have it function with the carbine length gas system? I would want it threaded to accept a Phantom. Would the gas port need to be modified to function properly? I was thinking something in the 9-91/2" range might be feasable. I would guess that anything shorter would interfere with the gas system, right?
I'm still in the planning/dreaming stages, so any input would be welcome.
Thanks Steve!
