We will have this solution for you as soon as my Ruger rifle gets here. The mounting nut needs to change slightly to allow the hand guard to mount flush with the front of the action. It will install exactly the same as our AR15 hand guard.
Our existing handgard will have a gap equal to the thickness of what your picture shows, just like any other AR15 hand guard |

I'd imagine all you'd have to do to get it to work is to reduce the length of the nut by the thickness of the ruger barrel nut? I was going to do this myself, but I know you guys will be able to do a much better job of it. In the meantime, the thickness of the Ruger nut is .200". I don't recall what the OD of it is, but I'd imagine you'd want to measure it yourself anyways. |

I am also very interested in getting either this handguard or the MCSR handguard to work with the RPR.
It appears to me that the nut could be turned around and allow clearance over the Ruger nut. I know however another concern is the SP3R does not have the anti rotation "wings". I was thinking of just putting a small rail riser the bridge the two and prevent any possible rotation. Very anxious to see what you come up with. Any possible time frame on this? |

My test rifle is finally on the way! I will have to slightly modify the bottom of the handguard where it meets up with that barrel nut shoulder. I will know for sure this Friday. After confirming fit we will be good to go for production and it will start immediately following a short test period. .. And i will put anti rotation in the mount one way or another, so no worries ;)

Is there any update on this?
There are some good Black Friday deals on the SP3R and I'm wondering how extensive the modifications would be and what my guy will charge to perform them. I like the flat bottom of the SP3R and think this will be an improvement over the factory tube. Please advise. Thanks! |

Any update on a timeline for this? How about an 18" version?
Thanks, Dave |

We have a bunch of RPR specific mounts manufactured and in process now. If you have a SP3 handguard already you will be able to buy the mount individually. The handguards have went thru some very minor changes thru the years. The one you have now may or may not need a little help from a dremel to relive the bottom edge slightly. This is the cut that clears the front take down pin area. when the RPR came out we made the cut fit it as well as AR's clearing that RPR barrel nut flange. Easy to do if you have old rail, or newer ones already fit perfect.
Should be able to ship these mid to late January, we will put them on the website for pre order right after the holidays |

Any update on the RPR specific mount? I just bought a SPR3R handguard thinking it would just fit and have the gap.

I believe they are packaging them up now and we will be releasing them in the coming days!

Anything new? I've been keeping my eye out on the web site!

I believe this problem was solved with the V3 SP3R rail. A larger groove was cut into the bottom of the rail to allow better fitment. See the detail picture on the website:
