RRA 9mm Range Report:
Well, I took her out for her first trial last night.
I mounted up a RRA Dominator sight, put half a turn on the mag block screw, grabbed a box of WWWB, UMC and MagTech and some targets and went to the indoor range.
Straight away I knew I was going to love this rifle. I'm not a great marksman, but I was able to make nice eight-out-of-ten-rounds-touching groups right off the bat.
I was surprised to see that the rifle definitely prefers the Magtech ammo.
I have the rifle zero set at fifty feet. That is probably too close. I find that if you zero ARs in close that the groups climb noticably at longer ranges. This is due to the height of the sights above the bore. Keep in mind that this rifle may never be fired outdoors as it is a paper puncher fun gun.
I had no firing malfunctions in 150 rounds. The only unintentional thing that happened was that the bolt dropped on it's own once when I seated a magazine with a firm push - which bounced the bolt release off it's seat in the carrier.
The standard trigger is crisp and predictable, but I really hope my two stage match trigger will work in the nine as the standard is a bit heavier than I'd like.
The Beta-C and EoTech are inbound. Paper plates will fear me...
