Looks like the winds are changing in California and the DOJ is trying to backdoor change the Assault Weapon regulations regarding fixed 10-round mags.
I currently have a Tactical CAR A4 with a maglock and a 10-round mag.
However, if the laws change, it may make more sense to dump all of the "evil" features (pistol grip, flash hider, and retractable stock) which would allow me to go back to detachable mags and exempt the rifle from Assault Weapon status.
So my question is, what would it take to change the flash hider currently mounted to a muzzle brake? Can I do this or does it have to go to a gunsmith?
How long is the fixed-length CAR stock? The RRA website doesn't list the length.
