Greetings Barrel_Nut, Bushmaster, all.
I can relate a similar tale: I had an order in for an XM15 E2S 14.5" Shorty AK since the beginning of July. On 30 JUL 02 I telephoned Bushmaster to change my order to the XM15 E2S A3 Type Dissipator, fluted barrel, AK muzzle brake, Tele-Style stock. Bushmaster had no problem changing my order. At first, "Cheryl," of Bushmaster, thought it might be a few weeks until the barrel arrived. However, the next day I received an e-mail from her informing me that the rifle was being assembled that day and would ship the following. Outstanding! Fortunately, I resisted the urge to find other uses for some of the one thousand dollars I had set aside and was able to complete payment with my FFL this past weekend.
To digress just a bit, but to still stay on the topic of Bushmaster customer service, the only disappointment I have with my purchase is that, despite the fact that everyone involved knew I wanted the Tele-Style stock, [the invoice even listed it], the rifle arrived with the standard stock. I will have to call customer service tomorrow, but I have no doubt that it will be resolved to my satisfaction somehow. BTW, the rifle is FANTASTIC (even without the addition of Pachmayr grip, Trijicon sights, and Streamlight M-5 Tactical Illuminator with remote switch)!
