First off all I can say is thank you Bushmaster! Astounding rifle even at the price.
Now an introduction to the rifle…
Bushmaster A3 20in .308 w/ Skeleton Stock and Izzy Brake
Swift 687M w/flips on a Colt flat top mount
Harris 6“- 9" swivel curb feelershttp://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/3791BAR1.JPG
From the bench she will shoot MOA at 100 yards using Aussy M4 ammo. I am not real consistent with her yet so when she throws one a bit off I know it is me and not the rifle. Yup that’s the same Aussy M4 ammo that pooped up the gas system on my STG carbine. The ammo had no ill effects on the Bushmaster. I do feel that I need to try some better ammo (once I become a bit more consistent with her) to see what she can really do .
I have used a Bren 7.62 30 rd. mag, metric and inch FAL mags without a single problem of any kind. 10 different magazines so far. The bolt also locks back every time after the last round with all mags.
Recoil is real mild (far less than the Cetme or STG carbine) so I assume that I should give the Izzy Brake a good review. I did not notice any enhanced noise at all…. unlike some brakes.
I am thinking of free floating her but I think that I will just wait until Bushmaster comes out with a Varminter in .308. Hint Hint Bushmaster!
