Yep, she found our cat of several years dead out on Ronald Reagan ...
What was worse, she had to dodge bicyclists (that were busy exercising in the road) in order to retrieve his body. He lay in state for most of the day ... Until we went out later only to find our cat staring down at some look-alikes lifeless corpse. Damn, if only I had been carrying ear-pro. 
I kid about the ear-pro, but a suppressor would have done the trick.

That's crazy. When I was around twenty or so my Mom's cat had been missing for around a week.
Mom finally finds her cat dead in the neighbors backyard. She called me to come over and bury it. So I go over and bury the thing. Just when I get done with the burial my mom's cat comes walking into the backyard. We never figured out who's cat I buried in the backyard.

Our cat went missing, he wandered off and couldnt find his was back. This was during hunting season so I wasnt optimistic as theres alot of predators along with hunters out in the woods. We put flyers out and one day after work I got a call, he was a mile and a half away and boy was he happy to see me. He was gone 5 weeks. He still goes out but I dont think he wanders far.

My old cat spent a good three weeks in the bottom of a water main cover. Not sure how he got there, or how he stayed alive, but we were so exited to see him back we didn't care about the vet bill.

No place for bicyclists either. One or some of them just tried to occupy the same space as one of those cars ... a couple hundred yards north of CR177. Everything with a flashing light is there right now.
ETA - I bicycle too, but I do so while keeping in mind that I'm doing nothing more than exercising in the damn road ... ... and I act accordingly when dealing with those that paid to be on it in the form of fuel taxes, vehicle tags, etc. |

I do dangerous crap every day too; fuel prices compel me to commute every day on a motorcycle up & down 183 and MoPac. "Acting accordingly" and "Keeping in mind" will go a long way towards keeping one's self ABOVE ground. The motorcycle also makes the commute a WHOLE lot more fun
