Hi all - I'm about ready to pull the trigger (pun intended) on an EOTech 550 (552) for my AR. I'm probably going to be getting several mounts so I can mount it on several of my ARs, both fixed and flat top.
I have a question regarding the flat top mounts. In looking at the SWFA site (where I intend to purchase), there are two different mounts for AR flattops:
9-GGG-A2FL EOTech mount for M16/AR15 M4 Flattop rear flip-up sight (dual aperture) for co-witnessing iron sights
9-GGG-MAD EOTech mount for M16/M4 Flattop rear flip-up sight (same plane aperture) for co-witnessing iron sights
My questions is what are the differences in these two mounts? What is the difference between dual aperture and same plane aperture? The EOTech site doesn't list the second mount type.
