I received my magpul stock last week, thanks for the fast shipping!
I liked almost everything about the stock immediately. The fact that it can be retracted from the closed position without having to "release" it first struck me as a bit of a flaw at first, but after thinking about it, realized it isn't necessarily a bad thing, just different from the original tele-stock. This may mean some changes in application and tactics are necessary.
Mounting the magpul was easily accomplished, though the plastic piece that holds the rear take-down pin detent spring in place seems a little flimsy. That was just my impression while mounting the stock, I'm sure it will be more than adequate to do what it's supposed to do now that it's installed.
The stock shoulders and shoots comfortably, though I approve of tumbling the parts to take some of the sharp edges off.
My only real criticism...which is more of a suggestion, involves the sling attachment. I am a southpaw, and mounted the sling adapter, appropriately, with the sling loop on the right side of the rifle. It gets somewhat in the way of the forward assist in this position. My suggestion on the sling would be to use a 2-piece, swiveling QD sling mount (similar to the sling mount on a Versapod) mounted so the sling-loop is about 1/2 inch lower down. The ability to swivel would be a benefit. I use plastic snap-hooks and "D" rings on my usual sling set-ups. This allows the rifle to be slung comfortably and compactly at port-arms but by releasing a clasp, can be pulled out away from the body and snapped back to low-ready or off-hand firing position very quickly.
Overall, I love it. I can't wait until the other stock attachments become available.
I'll post some pics as soon as I get them developed. (no digi)
