I was reading "The Last Patriot" by Brad Thor last night, and was pleasantly surprised to see LaRue Tactical and Mark LaRue in particular mentioned in the story line. The main character, Scot Harvath, a former SEAL turned Secret Service agent, turned Counter Terrorism agent was preparing for a mission and he chose "One of his most prized possessions: A LaRue Tactical Stealth M4." The author went on to elaborate about the gang at LaRue Tactical, the shop and it's products, and Mark LaRue specifically, calling him a "Modern day Q" (of James Bond fame). The author went on to say that since he was from Texas he should be called BB"Q" . Rather fitting I think, considering my addiction to Dillo Dust. If any of you guys are readers and havn't checked out Brad Thor, I highly suggest you do, as The Scot Harvath novels are alot like Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp books.

ehh, your a tad late...  Several months ago, we had several threads on the Thor books as well as JL Bournes, Lights out and a few others....  It was the LT book of the week club for a bit....  :)

I've read all Thor's books except for the Athena Project, and I'm wondering if Thor is an arfcommer.  I caught some references in some of his other books that might suggest this.

I am pretty sure he is.  I have read them all as well and have wondered the exact same thing.

Im readin Athena Project now and theres OBR goodness mentioned in first few Chapters.....if I remember right,  Harvath  had the OBR BEFORE anyone in the real deal world had one.....hmmmmmmm..

Kinda wondered about this...  I figure he is atleast a casual reader... Might not post much, but stops by now and then to get a fix on the Black Rifle Disease....





Still waiting on his new book and JL Bourne's next...  (if either of you two are in fact reading this, step it up!!! I'm dieing to get at the next books.)

I've been reading these books also, and at the beginning of Foreign Influence, he gives thanks to Mark and Ellen LaRue... of course I had to rush here to see if anybody else had seen that yet, I thought it was pretty cool.

Well he doesnt mention Larue in his latest book Full Black.  Actually, I found out about Larue from Thor's books (that was before I was into ARs).  But the book Full Black was kind of disappointing.  It was nothing like his earlier books.  But I support someone who supports Larue.

Where is the first time he mentions Larue?  I just finished Lions of Lucerne and Path of the Assassin and am about to start State of the Union.  They are so good i usually finish them within 24 hrs.
