I finally got my new DPMS style AR-10 barrel nut delivered today, So naturally, I immediately proceeded to remove parts from my "Field Grade" PredatOBR barrel so I could swap barrel nuts and mount it to my Aero upper. The first two Allen head set screws on the gas block came out reasonably easy, but no so the third...... Looks like I will have to break out a new bottle of propane for my torch and heat that rascal up!!!!! I tried Kroil on it, but probably didn't let it set long enough. About half stripped the Allen head portion of the set screw.....
Having hung around on this site for a while, I knew just what to do!!! I called LaRue to order a new set screw! Tim came to the rescue and is shipping me a set screw free of charge although I volunteered to pay for it anyways. I don't figure LaRue owes me anything when it's my screw-up, so I feel I should pay for it! But Tim was having no part of that and took good care of me!!!! This is why we say on this board, "If LaRue is an option, LaRue is the answer!!!!"
