Hi all, I just had to chime in on the Surefire results... I have a new FA762k this year. I have 2 buddies with Surefire cans also. In addition, I own 11 silencers and my best friend has 14. That being said, I can definitely tell you, the Surefire can in the shootout was not defective. The performance of them all is truly that awful! My friend and I have often wondered how they were able to sell us these in the first place for absolutely top dollar. Their marketing video is powerful and persuasive. Have you all ever noticed that there is a total lack of actual performance data on surefire suppressors on the internet ??? I believe the data is "suppressed" by the company. (pun intended) Seriously. The mounting system is second to none but that's where it ends. Especially with subsonic blackout. Its honestly as if there is no can on the gun at all. It fully sounds like an unsuppressed rifle. My titanium phantom is lightyears quieter... and you all see how that had some of the lowest scores in the test. And truthfully, this test is yet another example of suppressed data. I bought 5 cans so far from silencershop and I love these guys, but i'm afraid they have fallen a little under the influence of the (big oil) in the suppressor industry. I ask the good folks at Silencershop to at least blog the findings for all to see, and if Surefire can provide some new miracle to prove me wrong, i'll stand corrected. And I'll admit it here. But that aint gonna happen. Meanwhile, ever notice how the .22 can they were developing never made it to market ? That's because the military doesn't buy .22 suppressors and they could never make one to compete with a Sparrow or Spectre on a price/performance level for civilians. So Please, everyone, join me in asking for the truth here.
