I'm trying to install a LaRue LT15-9 on a Noveske marked VLTOR MUR upper receiver. The keeper won't sit flush on the receiver because it's so "beefy" in that area compared to a standard upper. Can I modify the keeper to fit the receiver? Is there another "fix" for this issue? Aside from using a different upper or hand guard. It looks like there's enough meat on the keeper to machine down so it will fit over the receiver.

I remember people either cutting off one side of the keeper, or not running the keeper at all in when using the VLTOR MUR. Also, you can file or mill away a relief on the one side of the keeper to allow it to fit.
