Q: Did you buy the pre or post ban? If you bought the post ban did you have a muzzle brake attached?
I purchase my RRA LE Tactical in the post ban configuration without any muzzle brake because I live in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey and I did not want the hassle from any LE's I'm not knocking any cops out there, its just the laws in NJ suck. If I where to install a muzzled brake I think the Gunsmoke 4 slot would be a nice choice.
Q: have read other threads about the rail dimensions of the RR uppers not conforming with SWAN dimensions there by making it difficult to mount sights and the like. Do you have any optics like an Aimpoint Comp mounted on yours?
Ok here's the Deal when I first bought my upper and kit from Sableco.I found Tactical handle to be very cool looking [IMHO] and well designed. The handle has a small compartment on the right side of the rail for a spare battery, the battery is protected by a screw on cap with O-ring.
I also purchased the post ban Non collapsible stock RRA NM trigger and a HAKKO red dot sight.
Assembly of the Kit was less than an hour on a PWA lower.
As drool start forming on my chin I install my HAKKO sight...Damnit the sight is too long for the rail!
Now I'm bumming because I really like the Hakko sight, the sight is very clear and even with a bright light in front or the side no washout is present.I have never had to turn the brightness of the sight past a setting of 7 the highest is
11. Incorporated into the sight are 4 different reticules "crosshair" "Circle & dot", "crosshair & circle and 4MOA dot. I like the 4MOA dot and its the one I use the most.
I call Donnie Pridemoor at Sableco and explained to him my problem, I ask him if an exchange could be arrange for an ARMS 38EX if I sent the Tactical handle back. He said sure; just send the tactical handle back and give $10.00 bucks more for the #38EX he didn't charge me for return shipping.
I receive the rail about 4 days later. go to install the rail and the damn thing will only slide on a little more than half way!!! Now I'm a little piss...but since I'm went to the ACME school of gunsmithing along with Willie coyote it's nothing a little molly grease and a rubber mallet can't fix. As Emerald would say....BAM! BAM!
Now I install the sight it looks great! I release the backup sight OH Sh#T!!!! I can't see through the iron sight..the back of the HAKKO is to high, so no backup iron sights with the HAKKO,but I have admit I like the sight alot.the Hakko is easy to zero and holds its zero when it is remove from the rifle,I've put over a 1000rds through that rifle and never had to re-zero that sight yet, unlike my Cmore.
Q: Were you charged the prices listed on the page you sent? And lastly, are there any options now you wish you would have gotten that you didn't?
As far as I know his prices are current the only way to know for sure
is ask Donnie, remember he only sells uppers and kits for the lowers, you will need to purchase a lower receiver yourself.
If I had to do it over the again the only thing I would do different is buy an Aimpoint M2. or if my budget was limited I would buy the OKO red dot because it has backup sights and it will fit on the tactical handle like the Aimpoint. I hope this helps
