the front sight posts that have Tritium (i.e. glow) all have to be larger than the original due to the size of the vial needed. If all your shooting is at ranges under 100 yards this is really irrelavent and you shouldn't worry about the minor increase in width. Tritium front sights are for 'tactical' use and they work fine for it. If you want a rifle for the smallest possible group size, for 'match' type use, you should be looking for the slimmer match sights.
Best Tritium front sight is the Trijicon one IMHO - its the only one I've seen where you have the full 4 clicks of adjustment per rotation and the vial is always pointing at you.
FYI Bushmaster carries these and you can buy the front sight by itself.
