I agree, there is nothing special about that gun.
Colt made over 300,000 SP1's and only ones with three or less digits in the serial number could be considered special.
You might want to include any of the early SP1s with the Edgewater buffer. I'm not sure how high in the serial number range those made it, though.
SP1 carbines are also a little special. Even though there are a fair number of them, they are somewhat rare, at least compared to the SP1 rifle. They usually command about $500 more than the rifle.
Also, don't forget the Coltguard finish SP1 rifles and the even more rare SP1 Coltguard carbine. I've only seen about a dozen SP1 rifles in Coltguard and only 2-3 SP1 carbines in Coltguard.
