Dillo is keeping the Crawfish tame before they go in the pot.

I'm sure he will be a big hit when people see him ready to assist at the cooler table when they grab a tasty refreshment.

This is my first boil since I've moved to Texas. I've learned a lot of thing that are bigger in TX, however Crawfish is not one of them. A little small for April, but I know they will be tasty.

Don't think that I have ever eaten crawfish. I do like shrimp, though.  Enjoy!

We did a crawfish boil yesterday and were only able to get small bugs. They were tasty though!

They look good, boiled crawfish are great anytime, any size...

Funny story, a few years back I read an article about a place in Washington state that called itself the crawfish capital of the world, no joke.  There was a restaurant there serving a dozen "cooked", whatever that means, crawfish for $16.  The spelling was crayfish in the ad.

I live in LA, as you can see, my first job was at a seafood restaurant, I was 15 years old,  $1.10 an hour...learned to boil crawfish watching the old guys in the back of the store.

77, I hear ya. LOL. I've heard and seen those claims before. Nowhere outside LA could claim that title. I'm from south Louisiana as well and all my TX buds tore up the crawfish Saturday. They were shocked to have them taste great and spicy without sprinkling powder boil on the OUTSIDE after they were boiled. I LOL every time I see that over here.

Alpha, that sprinkling powder on the outside is real bad...you know you are with a amatures when they do this.

Another true story, and I am not JOKING....

I retired from a major oil company, our headquarters was in Fairfax.  One of our senior engineers traveled to my refinery, New Orleans area, for a meeting. One of the contractors had a boil for us after work and I said "Bill you want to eat some crawfish" he said sure...well I asked him if he knew how to eat/peel them, he said I sure do...

So I brought him, we all sat down, everyone was digging in and I looked over at Bill and he was breaking the tail off and eating the shell and all...no joking.  We laughed so hard, we could not stop.  I said Bill what the F are you doing?  Eating crawfish man...well we all corrected him.

Wow, I bet that was a good laugh. It doesn't surprise me though. Everybody has to learn, but something would have told be to double check before popping a shell in my mouth.
