Will Colt ever offer stripped lower receivers to consumers? Have they in the past?
I personally would love to purchase a Colt lower if presented the opportunity but I havent seen any unless they were stripped second-hand |
|
They are $250 from a site no longer on ARF last time I checked.

Only place I know of to get them charges $375 for the ones with a QR code and $495 for the ones without (where all the markings are stamped). When you can get complete Colt lowers for $399, I wouldn't bother with the stripped ones. IMHO YMMV etc

I will have to say that I always had positive dealing with that banned company and the owner, fast shipping and excellent communication. I have purchased many Colt parts from him |

Im sure they would sell like crazy even at $125 -150 a pop.Colt has doomed themselves by ignoring the general public.

We will be receiving a large number of Colt complete receivers in the next 2 weeks. 5.56mm lowers and 9mm lowers. From what I understand markings will vary (some AR15, M4, SCW, odd color receivers such as tan, od green, camo)
Here are the links for when they arrive: 9mm lowers https://www.armsunlimited.com/Colt-9mm-Carbine-Lower-Receiver-Assembly-p/lr9mm.htm 5.56mm lowers https://www.armsunlimited.com/Colt-M4-Carbine-Lower-Receiver-Assembly-p/lr556.htm |
|
It is regrettably that it so difficult to buy Colt parts as people praise their quality. It is also a loss of business for Colt.

400 is to expensive for a fucking forged lower
i guess supply and demmand ![]() |
|
Thank you to everyone who responded. I'm going to be picking up a stripped Colt lower soon. $400 for a complete 6920 lower seems to be the going rate these days.
My only concern is that some of these Colt lowers are being sold for $400 when they're being split off of Expanse models and not 6920s. From my understanding the parts kits that goes into the Expanse models are not the same as the ones that goes into the 6920s. Is there a way to tell whether a complete lower came from a 6920 or an Expanse? Is there a major difference in quality between the two?? |

I just wish Colt would offer their lower stripped like KAC recently did. Lately, I've been noticing more and more complete Colt lowers but I'm hesitant to purchase because I don't know if came from an Expanse or a 6920. |

Why do certain stripped Colt M4 Carbine (semi) lowers have QR codes on them? When did this start?
They sell for $375 opposed to $495. |

View Quote As with anything that is not in production anymore at Colt the price goes up. I bought one of the stripped QR code marked lowers from SAW last year. It was was worth it to me because I couldn't find any other quality stripped lowers that didn't have any of that new gimmicky crap on them, like tension screws, threaded bolt catch roll pin holes and threaded take down detent pin holes. I'm also not really a fan of selector stops so that leaves Colt as the only option. I looked hard at the stripped forged lowers from Battle Arms Development because they also don't have selector stops but I just couldn't get past the gimmicky crap on them either. |

How are the QR codes put on the receiver? Laser? Are they removable?

Thanks 556Cliff
I also note that the Colt lower M4 Carbine (semi) uses 0.1555 pins not 0.154 pins. Same size as Gieselle. |

View Quote There are also some expanse lowers that have a m4 carbine roll mark but don't have a LE prefix(can't remember what it is) and also have .223 for caliber marking. The trigger parts are different between the expanse and a 6920 no matter which expanse lower you get. Easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the hammer. Google some images and it is easy to see the difference. On a complete lower, I am not positive if the butt stock and buffer tube are the same as a 6920 or not. I seem to think they are different but I am not sure. |

My Expanse lower came with a standard FCG with S markings (L.W. Schneider?), same as my OEM1 6920. View Quote It has been stated by colt that they do pull parts off the 6920 line and send to TX to meet demand of the expanse if parts are not available. It was also stated that expanse parts are NOT used in the 6920. It does make it hard determining what exactly is in an expanse. |

The lowers we have coming are marked M4 Piston Carbine, the marking from the LE6940P rifles. We also have some rare OD Green, Flat Dark Earth, and SCW Carbine marked lowers coming. They are all coming as completed lowers direct from Colt.
The ones we currently have are a mix of LE6920 lowers and Expanse lowers. Both of which were taken off rifles We will have them priced at $350 and up depending on markings coloring etc when they arrive. |

Colt is missing a great opportunity to regain market share and sell more product by intentionally restricting the availability (and price) of their parts.
|
|
Colt is not adding complete lowers to their catalog, they are selling excess inventory to ArmsUnlimited.com specifically, no other dealers will be receiving them.

We are absolutely getting them, as we get many exclusives from Colt, customer service isn't always kept up to speed with what sales is doing Definitely no on the SCW stocks for now... |
