Looks just like the pictured one, except you provide your own hicap :)
How is the fit / finish and overall quality?
Fit: Excellent, top grade. The upper/ lower fit is good with no wedge. Handguards are tight but still removable. Trigger is good everything clicks along nicely.
Finish: The box had been opened and resealed and was beat to hell. The rifle had marks on the step down (on the barrel) that looked like something had been attached there, various scratchs all over that area, and wear marks. The reciever had many scratches. The dealer received it this way, and had another coming in from a different place and was going to send this one back. (Current theory is that someone already had this one and had sent it back after playing with it for a couple days.)
Instead, he sold it to me dirt cheap.
The one that came in seperately was in pristine condition except for a few marks on the lower. Apparently Colt doesn't know how to put the pin in for the bolt hold open without scratching it, but otherwise that rifle was also nicely fit. Cheapness wins out anyday and I figured it'd get beat up from my playing with it anyway :)
After I shoot it, I'll decide if I want to send it back to Colt complaining about the appearance. They made a 1991 right for me with some blemishes, I just don't know if it's worth the trouble on this rifle.
I haven't shot it yet, Sunday at the earliest, but looking more like Wednesday.
Othernotes: this rifle has a full buffer tube in the fake collapsible, but has a carbine buffer. THis means it has the metal buffer instead of the plastic one. All Colt's AR's are push=pin pivot pin now, so this is no excception there.
Now I have to decide what I want to do Scope Wise...
