I just stumbled upon an interesting upper, in the original box. The upper has been removed from the box and fiddled with, but unfired other than factory.
The upper is an M4 upper with 16" 1/9 HBAR barrel dated 9/95. Interesting that the box is dated to the barrel. The receiver is M4 flat top with no T markings, AF C raised forge markings. M4 hand guards, green paint mark on front sight aperture, silver index washer for flash hider. It appears that there was rear BUIS installed. The FSB is F marked and has a bayonet lug
The box has a COLT SPORTER blue label, with an orange sticker marked "COLSC" over the lower left corner of the blue label.
Funny, the box also has a red hand stamp on it, " WARNING! THIS CONVERSION CAN ONLY BE INSTALLED ON PRE 9-13-94 AR--15 OR SPORTER MARKED GUNS."
I haven't seen anything like this before. All the ban era Colt conversion kits that I had seen where neutered. What does COLSC stand for? Is there any collector value to this, or should I blast away?
